Hi there, and welcome to BekahKnits.com!
I’m Rebekah – Happy wife, mama (to 3) by day, and knitwear designer by naptime. ;) I love making each stitch count with seamless, contoured, detailed designs. Please check out the patterns I’ve created, peruse a few of my knitting thoughts on the BLOG, or keep reading to see how I got started in this knitting biz. |
1999
I first picked up needles way back when I was 10, learned the basics from my mom, and a few scarves and washcloths later found myself utterly addicted to the knitting section at our local Library. Free patterns and acrylic yarn were this poor girl's friend. :) Over the years I had fun knitting lots of accessories, my first couple of sweaters, and a few pairs of socks. |
2007
In the fall of 2007, a little short on cash to fund my hobby (acrylic yarn just wasn't cutting it anymore ;)), I decided to start an Etsy business selling knitted baby booties. A few months later I'd designed a few prototypes and listed the finished shoes for sale in cute, ready-to-gift "buckets" (right). Orders came in, but soon more requests were arriving in my e-mail for the pattern than for the finished booties. A few months later, my knitting notes were formatted, test-knit, (re-read personally at least a zillion times for unnoticed errors :)), and ready for release. The response to my Baby Moc-a-Soc and Baby Merry-Jane patterns blew me away. Since then I've had fun figuring out my designing style, honing my pattern-writing skills, and sharing many more patterns with the knitting community. I just love getting an idea, grabbing some yarn, and using little sticks to make it a reality. :) Too much fun! |
2017
Right now I'm living a happy life with my little family in the Pacific Northwest. My children keep my heart full with their love and my hands busy with their needs. :) While life is busy as a mom, I've still managed to squeeze in knitting and I look forward to seeing what the designing future holds! In the meantime, I hope my designs - new and old - inspire you to dust off those knitting needles and create something great! |
